I would like to add that children playing outside more without their parents is a good break for parents, as it allows kids to learn how to play and socialize independently, alongside other children.
I love this. I remember my ex saying that he "was not going to be my back-up babysitter." And I accepted that like a total idiot. And boredom as the world's greatest way of teaching your kids to be imaginative --YES!!!!! We had our best times doing stupid chores, like weeding. Because, all of a sudden, when released from entertainment, we had these wonderful moments of connection. And, then we'd go paint and cut a refrigerator box into a castle....it was magic.
